Clear service descriptions, structured data and open access for AI crawlers are common, fixable gaps.

Method

How these numbers are calculated.

Figures use the latest score for each unique website scanned with AIready between 4 September 2026 and 17 October 2026 (363 scans in total). Repeat scans are not double-counted.

Websites were submitted by visitors and were not restricted to verified New Zealand businesses, so the sample is not a representative survey of New Zealand businesses. The snapshot does not separate temporary scan failures from persistent access restrictions, staff submissions or scanner-version changes; investigate low scores before treating them as definitive. An AI-readiness score measures how easily AI can access and understand a site; it does not prove whether AI tools cite or recommend it.
